Reduces

  1. Chlorine Reduction: The coconut shell carbon is highly effective at reducing chlorine from water, improving taste and odor.
  2. Chemical Removal: It also helps in the removal of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), chemicals, and other contaminants that may affect water quality.
  3. Sediment Filtration: The 0.5-micron rating means it can filter out fine particles, sediments, and even some bacteria and cysts from the water.
  4. Cyst Reduction: The small micron size can help in the reduction of protozoan cysts like Giardia and Cryptosporidium.
  5. Taste and Odor Improvement: With the coconut shell carbon, it enhances the taste and removes unpleasant odors from the water.

Installation

Step 1: Shut Off Water Supply

  • Turn off the water supply to the dishwasher by shutting off the cold-water feed under the sink.

Step 2: Disconnect Dishwasher Water Feed Line

  • Locate the cold-water feed line under the sink that supplies the dishwasher.
  • Use an adjustable wrench to disconnect the 1/2" flexi hose that runs from the water supply to the dishwasher.

Step 3: Fit the brass 1/2" male threads

locate the brass threaded fitting supplied with the filter to the inlet and outlet of the filter using thread tape.

Step 4: Connect 1/2" Flexi Hose to Filter Inlet

  • Take one of the new 1/2" stainless steel flexi hoses and wrap the threads with Teflon tape to ensure a tight seal.
  • Attach one end of the new hose to the water supply connection (where the dishwasher was previously connected).
  • Connect the other end of this hose to the inlet of your underbench water filter system.

Step 4: Connect the Filter Outlet to the Dishwasher and Faucet

  • Take the second 1/2" stainless steel flexi hose and attach one end to the outlet of the water filter.
  • Attach the other end of this hose to the existing kitchen faucet's cold-water feed connection. Ensure both connections are secure.

Step 5: Reconnect the Dishwasher Water Feed

  • Using the same 1/2" hose, connect the dishwasher back to the kitchen faucet’s cold-water feed. This ensures both the faucet and dishwasher are supplied with filtered water.

Step 6: Turn On Water and Check for Leaks

  • Slowly turn the water supply back on.
  • Check all connections for leaks, including the inlet and outlet of the filter housing, and the connections to the faucet and dishwasher.
