Filters
1. PENTAIR 1 Micron Polyspun Sediment Filter
Purpose: This filter is typically used as a sediment filter. Benefits:
- Particle Removal: Effectively removes fine particles, sediment, rust, and other suspended solids down to 1 micron in size.
- Improves Water Clarity: Enhances the clarity and quality of the water by removing visible particles.
- Protects Downstream Filters: Extends the lifespan of the subsequent filters by preventing larger particles from clogging them.
3. Matrikx CTO GR 5 Micron Carbon Activated Filter
- CTO Extruded Activated Carbon Block Filter is the most widely used carbon block filter in the world!
- Outstanding Chlorine, Taste, and Odor Reduction
- CTO filters offer high levels of chemical reduction including chlorine and other compounds that contribute to taste and odor
- Improves taste, eliminates odors, removes color
2. Activated Alumina Filter
NSF 61-certified granular activated alumina (AA) is a specialized filter media designed to effectively remove fluoride and arsenic from drinking water. Made from aluminum oxide, AA has an exceptionally high surface area, which allows it to adsorb fluoride efficiently. In municipal water supplies, fluoride concentrations are typically around 2 ppm, and AA filters can reduce this to below 0.1 ppm.
Fluoride Removal Efficiency: AA filters are effective at reducing fluoride, with performance typically starting strong and gradually decreasing as the filter becomes saturated. The filter can continue to remove a significant portion of fluoride, depending on the level of saturation and water pH.
If the fluoride concentration is particularly high or the filter is used heavily, the effectiveness may decline much quicker.
Note: There is no definitive time frame or capacity for when a fluoride filter should be replaced, nor a guaranteed lifespan. To ensure optimal performance, periodic water testing and filter replacement based on usage are recommended.
Filter Change Intervals
CTO & Sediment filters we recommend replacing your water filters every 12 months,
The frequency of changing your fluoride water filter in your home depends on various factors, including the level of fluoride in your water source, your household's water usage, and PH levels
Additionally, it's essential to monitor the performance of your filter regularly. If you notice a decrease in water flow rate, a change in water taste or odor, or if your water quality testing indicates a rise in fluoride levels, it may be time to replace the filter cartridge, even if it hasn't reached the manufacturer's recommended interval.
