Description
A 20-micron filter is capable of removing particles that are 20 microns or larger in size from water.
- Sediment: Larger particles such as sand, silt, and rust.
- Debris: Various types of debris that can be found in untreated or poorly treated water.
- Turbidity: Particles causing cloudiness or haziness in the water.
While it effectively removes larger particles, it may not filter out smaller contaminants such as bacteria, viruses, or fine sediments. For those, a finer micron rating would be required.
Quality
Pentek Pleated filters are made of resin-impregnated cellulose and polyester media pleated around a polypropylene core for strength. These materials trap suspended particles, block microbes and absorb unwanted chemicals or substances that cause a chemical change to the water, such as acid neutralization.
