This guide outlines essential requirements and warnings for installing your Klarify UV unit to ensure optimal performance and to maintain your warranty.
Key Requirements

Outdoor Installation: The provided neoprene covers protect the unit from frost, direct sunlight, and water. However, the included surge protector is not weatherproof and must be installed under eaves or in a sheltered, moisture-free area.

Corrosive Environments: Do not install the unit in areas with high salt exposure (like near coastlines) or aggressive chemicals, as this can cause damage.

Water Supply: Use only a cold water line (0–52°C) and protect the pipes from freezing.

Water Pressure: The required water pressure is 300–875 kPa. If your line pressure exceeds 500 kPa, a pressure-limiting valve is required (as per AS/NZS 3500.1:2021, Clause 3.3.4).

Backflow Prevention: A dual check valve must be installed at the water entry point.

Pipe Connections: The unit uses a standard 25mm thread. Alternate fittings may be needed depending on your setup.

Pipe Support: Use unions to make servicing easier and support heavy pipes to prevent stress on the unit.

Flow Rate: Do not exceed the system’s rated flow rate.

Electrical Load: Ensure the power supply is sufficient, especially if the unit is on the same circuit as a pump or other appliances. Consult a qualified electrician if you are unsure.

Power Surge Protection: A surge protector is included with your unit and must be used to protect the ballast and alarm from electrical spikes.

The provided surge protector is NOT weatherproof. Install it in a dry, sheltered location.

For outdoor installations, you must have a hard-wired, weatherproof surge protector installed by a licensed electrician.

Failure to use a suitable surge protector will void your warranty. The unit's built-in fuse offers only basic protection and is not designed for strong surges or lightning strikes.
