Description
In a T33 Remineralizer (specifically the "4-in-1" or 4-stage mineral cartridge), the 4 stages refer to the different types of mineral media packed into the inline filter. These are designed to add essential minerals back into water after it has been "stripped" by a Reverse Osmosis (RO) system. The four stages typically consist of:
1. Maifan Stone (Mineral Stone)
This is the primary remineralization stage. Maifan stone is a natural medicinal stone that releases essential minerals like calcium, magnesium, iron, and zinc. It is also highly effective at absorbing heavy metals and stabilizing the water’s quality.
2. Alkaline Media (ORP/Alkaline Balls)
These ceramic balls are designed to increase the pH level of the water. RO water is naturally slightly acidic (usually around pH 5.5–6.5); this stage buffers the water to make it more alkaline (usually reaching pH 7.5–8.5), which many people find improves the "mouthfeel" and health profile of the water.
3. Bio-Ceramic / Far-Infrared Balls
This stage focuses on water "activation." These balls emit far-infrared rays that theoretically break down water molecules into smaller clusters. This is intended to increase the dissolved oxygen in the water and make it easier for the body to absorb (increased hydration efficiency).
4. Tourmaline Stone
Tourmaline is a semi-precious mineral known for its piezoelectric properties. In a filter, it acts as a natural ionizer. It releases negative ions and helps further refine the pH balance and taste, ensuring the water has a "sweet" and fresh mineral-water flavor.
