Omnipure Q5515: The "Lead Specialist"
The Q5515 is a 1-micron carbon block filter. Because the carbon is compressed into a solid block with a very tight 1-micron pore size, it is physically capable of trapping cysts and is chemically formulated to target heavy metals.
Best Use: Use this if you are concerned about lead in older plumbing or if you want high-level protection against parasites like Giardia and Cryptosporidium.
Performance: It provides a very fine level of filtration but may restrict water flow more than a GAC filter if your water has high sediment.
