Key Contaminants and Substances Removed
1. Chlorine and Chloramine

- Other Metals: KDF media also reduce levels of other heavy metals like arsenic, cadmium, chromium, and nickel.
3. Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs)
- Common VOCs: Including chemicals like benzene, toluene, and xylene, often found in industrial pollutants.
4. Herbicides and Pesticides
- Agricultural Chemicals: The activated carbon component is effective at adsorbing various herbicides and pesticides that can contaminate water supplies.
5. Taste and Odor Compounds
- Organic Compounds: Natural organic matter and other compounds that cause bad taste and odor are effectively removed by the activated carbon.
6. Sediment and Particulates
- Sediment Filtration: The GAC component can trap particulates and sediment, although it is not primarily designed for this purpose compared to a dedicated sediment filter.
7. Bacteria and Algae Control
- Antimicrobial Properties: KDF media have bacteriostatic properties, meaning they inhibit the growth of bacteria, algae, and fungi within the filter, preventing biofilm formation.

First Stage Filter
10BDGD-PA dual gradient filter which is manufactured from 100% pure polypropylene. It is designed to remove sediment, and particles and for cyst reduction. Using an advanced design the filter is able to achieve up to three times the normal dirt holding capacity as other sediment filters. It has a 25-micron outer shell for larger particles and a 1-micron inner shell for finer particles and cysts. Effectively you are getting two filters in one.
Second Stage Filter
KDF-GAC filter is a two-media cartridge consisting of KDF (high purity copper-zinc alloy) and GAC (granulated activated carbon). Through the electrolytic and oxidation reactions of the KDF and the adsorption and entrapment capabilities of the GAC, the KDF-GAC filter can remove or greatly reduce a wide range of contaminants.
